Short - Brought Before Rulers

Updated: May 21, 2021

As a Christian, there may come a time when you are brought before leaders, and people of influence. Jesus told the disciples, that they would be brought before leaders/governors because of Him. When this happens, we ought not worry what to say, because the Holy Spirit will give us what we ought to say. If a man be brought before rulers unjustly, what is there to hide? Let the truth - Jesus - guide you! During these times of trial, it is an opportunity to give an account of Jesus: His life, death, and resurrection. This is bringing light into the darkness. Rulers and authorities are put into place by God, yet there are those rulers and authorities which are opposed to God. We must consider that God is using the believer to bring the Gospel to places guarded by the veneer of worldly power: that the light may pierce through the darkness. What an honor, and opportunity that is - for the believer - to co-labor with God. One can imagine that bringing the foolishness of preaching to governmental institutions/power structures may bring about shame/dishonor for the messenger of the truth, in a worldly sense. This is a confrontation of power, yet we know that all power belongs to God: we ought not be afraid, as our Lord sends us equipped with power from on high, to proclaim the message of the King of kings, and His victory over sin and death: to be counted worthy to suffer dishonor for the name of Jesus.

Don't be afraid to shift the dialogue, to the Gospel truth: God has equipped you for the task!
